At OnSight Eye Center, our lead physician, Dr. Desmond, boasts an impressive 18 plus-year career in Central Oregon, during which he has successfully performed over 10,000 cataract surgeries.
After four years, he is excited to welcome new patients to his practice, specializing in cataract surgery, specialty lens upgrades, medical/surgical glaucoma care, and comprehensive ophthalmology.
About Dr. Desmond
Dr. Desmond is dedicated to providing excellent eye care and vision care to his patients, and is also a devoted family man. He enjoys spending quality time with his wife and two children while engaging in the local community.
He also loves various outdoor recreational activities. When he's not in the office, you can find him enjoying skiing, mountain biking, river rafting, and traveling to new destinations.
Educational Background and Training
After graduating from medical school at the University of Utah, Dr. Desmond set his sights on honing his clinical skills in ophthalmology. He decided to further his eye surgery training at UC San Diego’s Shiley Eye Institute.
Dr. Desmond was then inspired to do international ophthalmology work as a volunteer in the remote villages of Central Guatemala and other places. This experience enabled him to perform several eye surgeries, which was an eye care service most of the local people normally do not have access to.
