How is Valeda Done?
Your treatment begins with a comprehensive eye examination, during which Dr. Desmond evaluates your vision, retinal health, and the stage of your dry age-related macular degeneration to determine whether Valeda is appropriate for you. If you are a candidate, your treatment plan typically includes a series of nine office-based sessions completed over three to five weeks, with additional treatment series recommended at regular intervals.
During each visit, you will sit comfortably in front of the Valeda device while Dr. Desmond and the team carefully position your eyes for treatment. The system delivers controlled yellow, red, and near-infrared light to your retina using photobiomodulation. No injections, incisions, anesthesia, or eye patches are required, and you can return to your daily activities immediately after each session.
